Event A: Sponsored accounts are live for Cyrillic services. Additionally, people can use the Viewing Options settings to opt into Cyrillic services, which means that English users can also use Sponsored accounts if they so choose.

As far as I can figure out LJArchive is the best backup program out there. I want to test out and write instructions for using it to upload entries to WordPress, but alas, I am Mac bound and don't have a convenient Windows machine to perform such feats on. One of the assertions I see a lot in dissatisfied news and other official community posts (and sometimes might even have made) is when things get dissatisfactory, people will move to GreatestJournal. Since both LJ and GJ give us the statistics on new users per day, I thought I'd test that hypothesis out.

Oh goodness gravy! it appears that SixApart's new blogging service, Vox, may be stepping on the toes of a preexisting blogging service/community called voxtropolis.com, which opened for business last year.

Voxtropolis regularly refers to itself as Vox on their website, and it's logo is quite definitely Vox-y.

A very nice and informative post has been made on lj_ads here. I haven't seen the button/badge ad in use anywhere yet and still see the Google link strip, but if anyone sees those going into place, let me know; I'll need to redo my styles gallery.

Six Apart (LJ's parent company) has just released a preview of their new blogging platform "Vox", originally named "Comet", adding to their product lines of LiveJournal, TypePad, and Moveable Type.
